System size: Anywhere from 4 kW to 15 kW. For most homes, you're looking at around 7.5 kW.
Cost per watt: Usually between $2.50 and $3.50. Nationwide, the average is about $2.95 per watt.
Total system cost: Before any tax credits, you're talking $10,000 to $35,000. A typical setup runs about $22,000.
Federal tax credit: You get 30% back through 2032. On a typical system, that saves you around $6,600.
Annual production: You'll generate about 1,000 to 1,800 kWh per kW of panels each year. The national average is 1,350.
